BSM-E Fuels Logistics Support Solutions
Varec provides complete fuels logistics systems deployment, maintenance technical support and training, as well as environmental compliance services to the U.S. Department of Defense to ensure real-time, global inventory visibility and accountability of fuels logistics and supply operations.
Systems Deployment
Varec is responsible for all FuelsManager Defense and Fuel Control Center (FCC) application deployment, reconciliation and field training activities in support of the Business Systems Modernization-Energy (BSM-E) Base Level fielding effort. Varec provides on-site installation, repair and training for BSM-E hardware and software deployed to all BSM-E locations worldwide. This includes managing equipment inventory to support deployment activities, maintaining and configuring hardware, obtaining hardware warranties and extensions, supervising field hardware engineers and field trainers installing systems and maintaining documentation on equipment installed, all on behalf of the Defense Energy Support Center (DESC).
Systems Maintenance
To further support the implementation of the BSM-E program, we also provide independent maintenance and testing for processes and tasks that include Fuels Control Center (FCC) and the accredited Base-Level Support Application (BLSA) FuelsManager Defense software.
Technical Support
Varec maintains approximately 30 employees in our technical support center to support the U.S. DoD fuels logistics systems (FCC, FuelsManager Defense, other BSM-E applications) 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We process over 40,000 support tickets annually from over 600 DoD sites worldwide.
Leak Detection Systems Maintenance and Designated Underground Storage Tank Operator Services
In support of the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR), Varec provides annual preventive maintenance and certification of the tank leak detection systems operating through FuelsManager Defense at approximately 38 continental U.S. and Alaskan facilities. Our Designated Underground Storage Tank Operator (DUSTO) services include monthly visual inspections of underground storage tanks (USTs) and annual facility employee training for eleven military facilities in California. This state required program provides the user an independent inspection in accordance with Title 23 of the California Code of Regulations and is a fore-runner of programs that are currently being developed at the EPA.
