Precision Tightness Testing
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) mandates the need for product release (leak) detection to prevent unauthorized releases and contamination of ground water resources.
Included as an option in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), 40 CFR Part 280 and 40 CFR Part 281 is periodic precision tightness testing. This may also be the only option when monitoring equipment is not working or not installed. Precision tightness testing to 0.1 gallons per hour leak rate is also required in many states to verify other monitoring options are working. Additionally, precision tightness testing may be required after repairs or internal inspections of both above and below ground storage tank systems.
What are Your Options?
To comply with these regulations, you have two options: contract with local vendors and manage the testing in-house or have highly qualified, cost effective Varec consultants provide management and quality assurance for your testing requirements using nationally recognized testing technologies and practices.
